I have an address in Scotland, where people send me mail. I go to school in Scotland, in this ridiculous building
I have wonderful flatmates with fantastic accents, I've adopted Chocolate Soup as my cafe of choice, Oddfellows as my favorite pub, and Liquid Room as my favorite club.
It's all mine.
At least for another 3 months, anyway. Edinburgh is absolutely incredible and is quite possibly the most beautiful city in the world.
Right outside the city (I can walk to it from my flat in 20 minutes) is this gorgeous mountain type thing called Arthur's Seat and you can climb it super easily and have the most amazing view from the top.

i took the day off. i had a nice long breakfast with my dad at strathmores and ran a few errands (cingular, bank, etc). did my gov hw, started my chiaramonte paper. went to school around 130 to finish formatting the preliminary design review and sent it off to NASA. came home, worked on the paper a little more, had some green bean casserole. so good. why do people make it only on thanksgiving? theyre missing out.
i dyed my hair burgundyish. really i was jsut too lazy to get my highlights redone so i bought a darker color and just did the whole thing. yep.
9 school days and then winter break.
yessssss.
i am so tired.

so i thought i was overdue for a public entry. cant wait to see the anonymous comments.
1)life is finally back to normal after wilma, except for a few traffic lights that still need to be fixed and a few billion trees that need to be cleaned up.
2) acts today. they were okay, just long. All I want to do is improve my science score by a point or two and i'll be thrilled.
3)I've been fighting with the twins a lot lately. it's frustrating, but they're kind of obnoxious. but they're 13, so i guess that's somewhat expected.
4) I am so over school. I'm pretty sure i'm failing my online programming class. *shrug*
5) I bought a new car. its a nissan sentra. 93 but amazing condition. new brakes, new battery, new tires, RIMS <3, etc. it's red and it fucking has power windows
6)tonight i went out to dinner with lauren katie and kevin. i like fridays. then we worked on our eng project for a bit. and by worked on our project, i mean laughed for 2 solid hours.
7) tomorrow is jesses birthday. happy 22nd
8) memoirs of a geisha was awesome and im psyched for the movie.

I've applied to 5 of my 8 schools - just UF, BU and rensselaer are left. I still need to send my transcripts/SAT scores everywhere though. I'll do that monday =)
I reaally like my new job. I kind of quit mad science. I'll still be working there for special events, but no more weekdays 330-5.. thank goodness.
I somehow got talked into going to the football game tonight. go colonels? Oh well, it'll be fun cause ill be with ashleypamelaethanamanda.
I'm coming up to UF on october 13 with ashley rose. i have to take the SAT IIs (physics, math and spanish) the weekend before so im going to miss gator growl. oh well. I'll still get to see all of my favorites AND see a huge 1013 show.
Jessi's bday is on thursday and I'm not going to be with her.. that's never happened before. :-/ lame.

i dont know if i can describe this weekend. it really was too perfect for words.
PLANTATION HIGH SCHOOL HAS TWO OF THE TOP TEN ROCKETRY TEAMS IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY.
we won. we went and we won. my team is the ninth best in the nation. out of over 700 teams, we did better than all but eight.
school of rockets got second. SECOND.
between the two teams we won $12,000. Both teams are also eligible for $2500 grants from NASA to build a rocket next year that can go a mile high.
we also won the judges award. most spirited =)
and also, best time for a returning school.
it wasnt even all about the competition. A week ago I didn't even know the names of some of the kids on the other teams. Now theyre like family.
writing about the trip wont do it any justice. i just want to say that we made a name for PLantation High school. everybody that was there left knowing who we were.
Sunday we went to the smithsonian Aerospace museum. I ran into a few guys from the competition and they asked where i was from. as soon as i said "plantation" they got excited and were like "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU GUYS DID SO GREAT" it was an awesome feeling.
when we got off the turnpike this morning, we were joined by plantations police department as an escort and when we got back to school they had about 100 kids cheering for us and the band playing. they even made a red carpet for us to step off the bus to get onto. it was.. amazing. because we'd had so much trouble with the bookkeeper before the trip and didnt get funding from the school, so seeing all that just made us feel so much better about our school and about what we had accomplished.
one last thing.
during the competition i had been talking to a lot of random people. one of them was an extremely nice man around 60 wearing the official NAR shirt and hat, same as all the other volunteers. I talked to him for about 20 minutes. about how we could never find a place to launch, how we had driven 18 hours, and about different engine and parachute issues. A few hours later, at the awards ceremony, I found out he was the president of AIA. (Aerospace Industries Association) He put the damn competition together. When he called up my team to give us our medals for 9th place, he gave me a huge hug and said "I'm proud of you". I saw him again later and he gave me his business card and told me not to hesitate to call him if I ever wanted an internship in the area.
I also met the founder of Estes engines. without him, we wouldnt have had the engines to compete in the competition. nicest guy ever. his wife, too.
jacobi had me take a picture with her in front of the space shuttle at the museum. she said she wanted it so that when i was flying in one in a few years, she would have it to remember me by.
\this weekend has just reaffirmed everything i want to do with my life. i dont know exactly what i am going to major in, or where Im going to go, but it will involve space and rocketry.

but the boy is down and he makes me happy. besides, planet smashers are on friday, so i cant be too bummed.

work is great, actually. my manager is recommending to the owner that i get a raise and become a supervisor. so then i could boss more people around than i already do. and that would be grand.

my aunts new husband works for frito lay and gets TONS of free food. so he sent us over 100 bags of doritos. ive been eating four or five a day. so good.
tomorrow is another rocket launch. we have to send in our qualifying times by monday so we have tomorrow and sunday. hopefully tomorrow will go well so i dont have to wake up at 7am again on sunday.
ill probably have to work tomorrow but after i get off im going to sarahs party - should be a good time. it always is at sarahs.
my report card sucked. i dont want to talk about it.
